ParentsNext
ParentsNext is an Australian Government initiative to help parents with young children identify goals and develop skillsets to assist with personal and career development so that participants can enter the workforce when ready.
Metro Assist delivers ParentsNext in partnership with SSI across Sydney Metro East, Sydney Inner West, and Sydney South West.
How ParentsNext can help:
Our professional team will help you to:
• Identify education, training, and employment goals
• Choose activities to help reach those goals
• Identify barriers and address them to achieving goals
• Create a Participation Plan for short and long-term goals
Depending on your needs, we can also help you:
• Make connections to Registered Training organisations and employment services
• Provide vocational and non-vocational training to boost job readiness
• Invite you to career expos, events, and workshops by employers about jobs in the local area
• Make links with local community services to address personal, parenting, childcare or family needs
• Organise self-help or support groups with other participants in the program
• In some cases, provide some financial support to enable the completion of activities

• Your youngest child is under six years old
• You have been getting a Parenting Payment (Partnered, Single and Carer) and haven’t worked in the last six months.
